ENTERTAINMENT

With the exception of Décor, there is no other area of concern where the vessel owners input and full attention is required. The vessel owner has ideas on the type and scope of electronic entertainment he or she wants in each area aboard their yacht. From full on theatre experiences to just enough to provide daily news and weather updates, their demands and requests must be met to ensure their overall happiness and peace of mind aboard their yacht.

Island Marine Electric works closely with the vessel’s owners or the management company, the project manager, or the captain and crew, to ensure the entertainment suite is configured to meet the owner’s preferences. We begin the project with no preconceived notions about how to configure a vessel. We listen closely to each owner, or representative, to ensure the package we design is best suited to each vessel’s owner.

Using a combination of automation, remote controls, digital and analog interfaces as well as specific entertainment equipment from various, proven component suppliers, a system wide approach is taken for each space aboard as well as for a vessel wide application.

Not being married to one specific automated control system, distribution system, amplification system or speaker manufacturer allows us complete flexibility to provide an entertainment experience the vessel owners can both enjoy reliably as well as entertain the people important to them.

LEVELS OF AUTOMATION
AND CONTROL

Island Marine Electric works with the leading manufacturers of control and automation systems to design the package that provides the level of automation desired by the yachts owners.

From simple control of the audio/visual system to automated control of the entire space depending on the type of entertainment selected, Island Marine Electric can provide simplified, directed controls for the audio/visual, lighting, window treatment and climate control systems to ensure the owner’s experiences aboard are truly enjoyable.

Island Marine Electric can provide control interfaces from dedicated manufacturer’s visual remote controls, to Apple or Android pads, or simple push button remotes to hard mounted remote controls. This option is usually selected to closely resemble the control and automation system in their primary residences to ensure a smoother transition to the yachting lifestyle.

SYSTEMS APPROACH TO
INDIVIDUAL SPACES

Aboard a yacht, each space can have a multitude of uses. The salon, usually the most used space aboard, can be used for reading, visiting with friends and relatives, cocktail/dinner parties, and movie watching. Each use brings with it its own requirements for entertainment, both audio and visual. There is no need for full 11.2 surround sound with overdriven base for reading, visiting or cocktail/dinner parties, yet for movies, the addition of a full theatre style sound system can build the movie to and experience from just an event. Sensing what is happening adds a new level of enjoyment when watching todays fully involved action movies.

The master stateroom can be equipped with similar theater style components for private viewing of favorite movies in a more personal setting. And when less impactful entertainment is required, the news, sports, weather or music can be enjoyed.

Outdoor, or weather-decks can be set up to allow music to be played vessel wide for cocktail or dinner cruises. The weather-decks can also be equipped to allow a full on disco style club event for those invited aboard.

FAQ

There is no international standard for voltage and frequency of electrical power. If a vessel travels to a country with different electrical standards, plugging directly into their power grid may cause damage to the electrical components on the vessel. A shore power converter will take the host country’s power and convert it to the standard the vessel was built to, eliminating the potential for any damaged equipment.
A/Sea Power System recommend yearly service to remove dirt and debris that may have collected inside during operation. Every three years A/Sea Power Systems recommends replacing all the cooling fans.
Yes, electrically actuated fin stabilizers are more responsive than hydraulic fins. Electric fins can also be turned 180 degrees to prevent the vessel from moving over the anchor during zero speed operation.
